“Pythagorean” and “Chaldean” are two different ways of mapping letters to numbers. The Pythagorean method (letters 1–9 by alphabet position) is the Western standard and the basis of Birth Codex; the Chaldean method (values 1–8, without the 9) is older and maps letters differently — both are traditions in their own right, not a “more correct” and a “more wrong” one.
The most common kind: you type in a birth date or a name and instantly get a single number — usually your life path number. Their strength is speed and a low bar: free, often in English, and frequently with no account at all.
