Calculate my Tarot birth card

Your Tarot birth card is calculated numerologically from your date of birth. The digit sum of your birth date gives your personality card from the Major Arcana — it reveals your outer nature and your life's task. Through further reduction you arrive at your soul card, which uncovers your inner nature and your hidden motivations. Birth Codex calculates both cards and interprets them in the context of 23 cosmic systems.

What your Tarot birth card reveals

Personality card — Your outer archetype from the Major Arcana. It shows how you come across in the world and which life themes accompany you.

Soul card — Your inner archetype, calculated through further reduction. It uncovers your deepest motivations and your spiritual potential.

Numerological connection— The link between your Tarot birth card and your life path number reveals a deeper pattern in your soul's journey.

Personal reading — No boilerplate text. Every interpretation is created individually for you in the context of your entire cosmic profile.

How to calculate your birth card

The basis is your complete date of birth. You add the day, the month and every digit of the year into a single sum — for example 14 July 1990: 1+4+0+7+1+9+9+0 makes 31. This number points to a card of the Major Arcana, in this example to card 31, which is in turn reduced to card 4.

If the result is above 22, you take the digit sum until you arrive at a number between 1 and 22. This usually produces two cards: the higher number as the personality card and its digit sum as the soul card. For some birth dates the two coincide, and then you have a single, reinforced card.

What matters is that you really add each digit individually and don't round. A common mistake is to take the year as a whole number, or to swap the day and the month. Work through it calmly and the result will be correct.

Telling the personality card and the soul card apart

The personality card describes how you come across to the outside and which themes accompany you in your visible life. It shows your way of approaching challenges and the picture others form of you. It is, so to speak, the surface of your character.

The soul card lies beneath it and names your inner drive — what truly motivates you, even when not everyone notices it. You will often recognize a life theme in it that runs through years of your life. The two cards complement each other: one shows the behavior, the other the motives behind it.

In everyday life it is worth looking at both together. When the personality and soul cards diverge strongly, you may feel a tension between how you present yourself and what you need on the inside. This tension is not a defect but a hint as to where growth is possible.

Strengths, shadows and misunderstandings

Every birth card brings a pair of light and shadow sides. The Sun, for instance, stands for clarity, self-confidence and joy of life, but in its shadow it can tip into overestimating yourself or a need for recognition. The point is not to find a card good or bad, but to recognize both poles in yourself.

A widespread misunderstanding is to read the birth card as fate or a fixed prediction. It says nothing about what will happen to you; it describes a basic orientation of your personality. You remain free in how you deal with these dispositions.

Also don't confuse the birth card with the year card, which changes annually, or with daily cards you draw. The birth card stays the same your whole life and is therefore well suited as a thread along which you can read recurring patterns and long-term themes.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Tarot birth card?

Your Tarot birth card is an archetype from the Major Arcana of the Tarot, determined by the numerological digit sum of your birth date. It describes your fundamental personality energy and your life's task.

How is it calculated?

The digit sum of the day, month and year of your birth is formed. If the result is greater than 22, it is reduced again. The result corresponds to a card of the Major Arcana — your personality card. A further reduction gives your soul card.

What is the difference from the soul card?

The personality card shows your outer nature — how you come across in the world. The soul card emerges through further numerological reduction and uncovers your inner, hidden motivations. Birth Codex calculates both as part of 23 cosmic systems.
