When two birth charts are compared, this is called synastry: it reveals how your planets come into contact with each other and which themes between you are especially alive or full of friction. Trines and sextiles suggest flow, squares and oppositions point to friction that can be quite invigorating.

A common misconception is that a chart comparison could predict whether a relationship will succeed. In reality it describes dynamics, not verdicts. Even challenging constellations can be carried if both people are willing to work on the themes they reveal.

This becomes practically useful when you understand recurring conflicts not as personal fault but as patterns. If you know, for example, that your Mars placements rub against each other, you can address arguments about pace and assertiveness more deliberately, instead of reading them as a character flaw in the other person.
